Todwick: Picture reveals live bomb discovered by shocked resident in garage
This is a picture of the live mortar bomb that was found in a garage in Todwick over the weekend, sent in to the Guardian by resident Rob Dawtry.
It is understood that the owner of the garage made the shocking discovery when they were having a clear out of the property.
A spokesperson for South Yorks Police said: “Police were called at around 12.15pm on Saturday 15th November to a property in The Pastures, Todwick, following concerns for an item found at the location.”
“Bomb disposal experts attended the scene and removed what is believed to be a mortar shell. It was taken away for detonation.”
