The construction of the dual carriageway on the A57 between the M1 junction 31 roundabout and Todwick crossroads is nearing completion, with final carriageway surfacing planned to commence in mid March.

The work will take place at junctions to both the roundabouts on the stretch of road.

It should take around two weeks subject to weather conditions. Actual dates will be advised on signs before any closures take place.

The one-way system will operate between 9pm and 5am on the A57 in either an eastbound or westbound direction, depending on the location of the works.

Kiveton Lane, Todwick Road and Goosecarr Lane will all be closed, but only at their junction with the A57.

Access will always be maintained to the Red Lion Public House and Kiveton Lane and Goosecarr Lane will not both be closed at the same time.

The diversion route in place for eastbound traffic will be to travel west along the A57 towards Swallownest then head north along the A618 towards Rotherham, join the A631 East Bawtry Road to Cumwell Lane at Hellaby, from there the B6060 will be signed to guide motorists from Dinnington to the end of the diversion route at Anston.

Due to the low bridge on the B6060 Ryton Road, any vehicles over 14ft 6” will be sent onto an alternative diversion route along Swinston Hill Road via Woodsetts to the Gateford Road roundabout. The reverse of this diversion will be in operation for a westbound closure.

In order to minimise future disruption maintenance works will also be undertaken on the M1 junction 31 roundabout to repair failed sections of carriageway.
