Torksey phonebox transformed

Volunteers in Torksey have transformed a village landmark into something straight out of Doctor Who.

Torksey Action Group (TAG) transformed a village phone box into a Tardis of information, which will be used as a communication point and information centre for local news and events.

West Lindsey District Council ward member for Torksey Coun Stuart Kinch helped support the project using £225 from the Councillor Initiative Fund.

The WLDC scheme provides all 37 district councillors with an allowance of £4,000 to spend on projects of their choice.

TAG member Ann Close said the group was thrilled to get the funding from Coun Kinch.

“The phone box has been put to good use, and will be the information hub of the village,” she said.

Coun Kinch has also donated money to the Torksey croquet club and said he is delighted that money from the Councillor Initiative Fund has been put to ‘such good use’.
