Traffic safety concerns meeting in Gosberton this month

The meeting is at St Peter and St Paul’s Church Hall, Westhorpe Road, Gosberton, on Wednesday, March 30 at 7pm.

Both Gosberton (Primary) Academy and Rainbows Playgroup supported a campaign for a pedestrian crossing to be installed outside the school after a boy suffered a swollen lip from a car which hit him last November.

A statement from Gosberton Parish Council said: “Due to a high volume of complaints received from residents in the village regarding various issues surrounding traffic, including high volumes of HGVs using High Street, speeding and dangerous parking, Gosberton Parish Council has made the decision to hold a public meeting for people to voice their concerns to hopefully try and resolve some issues within the village.”

Businesses, police, Lincolnshire County Council member Coun Susan Wray, district councillors Robert Clark, Neville Johnson and Jane King, county highways officers and villagers have all been invited to the meeting.

Lincolnshire County Council confirmed last month that a traffic survey would be carried out in Gosberton, the first since February 2009.
