Train attack

British Transport Police (BTP) is appealing for information after a couple were assaulted by a group of drunken men at Gainsborough Lea Road railway station in front of their children.

The incident, which took place on Saturday 2nd June around 8.50pm, saw the father have teeth kicked out of his mouth and left the couple extremely distressed.

The couple were travelling on the 8.27pm Lincoln to Sheffield service with their three children and grandchild when they left the train at Gainsborough.

Shortly afterwards the couple were attacked.

Four men aged between 35-45 and all from Gainsborough, were arrested for actual bodily harm and common assault.

They have all been released on police bail until mid-July pending further police enquiries.
