A1 reopens after 24-hour closure following double lorry fire between Grantham and Stamford
The carriageway has been resurfaced overnight after two lorries collided and caught fire near the Stretton/Greetham turn at around 7am on Tuesday.
Fire crews extinguished the fire within a couple of hours but the road remained closed after the heat of the blaze melted and charred the tarmac.

The diversion route via Melton Mowbray and Oakham also caused long delays for motorists in those towns.
No serious injuries to the drivers were reported and the northbound carriageway remained open throughout, although there was slow traffic past the scene of the fire as drivers looked on at the remains of the two HGVs.
