Breaking news 6.20pm - Two vehicle head-on collision blocks A17 and A1121 near Boston

The collision involving two Astra cars was reported at 5.22pm close to the Swineshead Bridge level crossing on the A17.

A police spokesman said there has been no serious injury to the male and female drivers of the two cars and the A17 has been completely blocked in both directions with traffic being diverted at Bicker Bar roundabout and at Hubbert’s Bridge on the A1121 Boardsides road.

Emergency services including two fire appliances, ambulances and a number of police cars are at the scene.

He said recovery vehicles were expected at 6.45pm and the road could be re-opened soon after 7pm.
