Drivers and walkers warned of temporary road and path closures across Lincolnshire starting this month
Motorists and pedestrians in parts of Lincolnshire face potential travel disruption starting this month as Lincolnshire County Council issues temporary traffic restriction orders across several towns and villages.
The upcoming closures — spanning Dogdyke, Kirkby on Bain and Chapel Hill — are necessary to allow maintenance and utility works to be carried out safely on or near local highways and footpaths.
Key closures and affected areas are:
New York Road,Dogdyke, starting on Wednesday, 21 October for approximately three days. Traffic restrictions will be in effect between 120 metres and 170 metres west of Hurnbridge Road.

Public Rights of Way closures at Chapel Hill starting on Sunday, 25 October for up to six months (or until works are completed). Footpath closures apply to Billinghay PROW 7/1 and Dogdyke PROW 2/1, situated between Witham Bank/Twenty Foot Bank and Main Street/Chapel Hill Road. The council cited safety precautions for pedestrians during nearby ongoing works.
Main Street, Kirkby on Bain, starting on Monday, 26 October for approximately five days. Main Street will close to through-traffic between Kirkby Lane and Tattershall Road while council-approved works are carried out.
Lincolnshire County Council confirmed that access to properties and adjacent land will be maintained throughout the scheduled works, though residents and visitors may experience slight delays.
Clearly signed alternative routes will be established for vehicular traffic and footpaths affected by the closures. The temporary restrictions will only be active when indicated by local traffic signs in accordance with regulations.
Drivers traveling through the affected areas are advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
