Fire service called to overheating washing machine

Firefighters were called to a report of a fire from an overheating washing machine in Scopwick last night (Tuesday).

The crew from Metheringham were called out at 7.36pm to the fire on Cuckoo Lane, Scopwick.

There they found the bearings in a washing machine had overheated causing moderate damage to them, but the fire had not spread.
