Lincs Fire & Rescue in heavy rain safety plea

Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue has appealed to motorists to take “extra care” on the area’s roads today (Friday), amid Met Office warnings for potential heavy rain.

A yellow weather warning is currently in effect for the whole of Lincolnshire.
Forecasters are predicting rain today and on into Saturday.

“The Met Office predicts heavy rain today,” said a Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue spokesperson on their official Twitter feed.

“Please be extra careful on roads. Use lights/mirrors, take it slow and steady and drive to road conditions,” they added.
The warning comes a day after one of the biggest car pile ups in UK history.
