Lorry incident causes road closure as snowfall blankets Lincolnshire
The A153 at Tattershall Bridge had to be closed by police this morning (Monday, January 5) after a lorry ran off the road in the snowy and icy conditions.
With a snowfall across most of Lincolnshire overnight, plus more on the coast earlier yesterday, roads were challenging in places for early deliveries and people heading off to work.
Lincolnshire Police said at 3am they had closed the A153 between Elizabeth Avenue and Twenty Foot Bank at Tattershall Bridge after an HGV left the road.
No serious injuries were reported.
Diversions were put in place as the morning commute built up, with many returning after the festive break, but the road was reopened by about 7.45am, after the vehicle was removed.
