Skegness to Nottingham rail services to miss Grantham stop during planned works

Over the next six Saturdays rail renewal works in Peterborough will result in some disruption on the east coast mainline and local branch lines which connect with it.
Trains on the Nottingham to Skegness Poacher Line will not be stopping in Grantham from 1.15pm onwards on Saturdays during the engineering works.

And although services between Nottingham and Skegness will run as normal - simply missing out the Grantham stop - those passengers hoping to catch a connecting service in Grantham will be affected.

The works are set to last for almost 24 hours each weekend - Saturday afternoons into Sunday mornings - although East Midlands Trains on the Poacher Line will only be affected on Saturdays.

East Coast mainline services will be affected on both Saturdays and Sundays. Services will be diverting via Lincoln and bus replacements will also be in effect.

“An amended timetable will run to and from London Kings Cross,” said a spokesperson for East Coast. “Trains will also be diverted via Lincoln and unable to call at Grantham, with extended journey times of approximately 90 minutes.

“Replacement buses will run between Peterborough, Grantham and Newark North Gate.”
