Woman, 79, and four-year-old boy die following multi-vehicle collision
An elderly woman and a four-year-old boy who were involved in a collision near Louth, have since died.
Police said they were “saddened” to report the deaths of two people several days after the multi-vehicle collision on a section of the A157 close to Grimblethorpe, Louth on Sunday, March 15.
The collision occurred on a straight section of the A157 just after Gayton le Wold, heading towards Louth, say police.
A police spokesperson said the four-vehicle collision involved a Blue Peugeot 108, a grey MG 1300, a white BMW X3, and a black Volvo XC60 – and a fifth vehicle which also sustained collateral damage.

They said a 79-year-old woman from Mablethorpe, who was the driver of the grey MG 1300, was taken to hospital but died in hospital a day later.
A four-year-old boy from Birmingham, who was a passenger in the black Volvo XC60, sadly passed away on Monday March 23.
The spokesperson said: “Investigators have carried out multiple lines of forensic enquiry, however Lead Investigator, Detective Sergeant Melissa Ablitt, is keen to understand more about the sequence of events that preceded the collision. She would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has CCTV, dash cam or other recorded footage that may have captured either of those vehicles prior to the collision itself."
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation, and who has not already spoken with officers, is asked to email [email protected] or call 01522 212316 or 101, referring to Incident 279 of March 15.
