East Lindsey District Council were made aware of the incident at around 7pm last night (Wednesday, April 6) and their enforcement team immediately instructed a solicitor to handle the matter.

But it is now said that all of the vehicles have vacated the area.

Portfolio Holder for Operational Services, Councillor Sandra Harrison, said: “Last night (April 6) the Council instructed its solicitors to secure the earliest possible court date to obtain a Possession Order for the Seacroft Road Car Park in Mablethorpe.

“Those occupying the site are doing so unlawfully and the Council is keen for the matter to be resolved as quickly as possible.”

The Council are currently consulting on a proposal to install a height barrier to the same Seacroft Road car park the travellers are occupying.

A decision is likely to be made in the coming weeks.
