UPDATE, DECEMBER 27, 7AM: Man who died in A15 crash near Navenby from Lincoln area

Police have confirmed that the man who died in a Boxing Day accident on the A15 near Navenby is from the Lincoln area.

The 41-year-old was one of three people seriously injured in the crash.

Police and other emergency services were called to the scene on the stretch of road between the Green Man Lane junction and the B1202 Metheringham Heath Lane junction just before 9.40am.

The Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance airlifted a 29-year-old man, who was driving a Subaru Impreza, to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, where he is detained.

A 29-year-old woman who was with him was taken by land to Lincoln County Hospital, where she remains.

The blue Subaru Impreza was in collision with a silver Vauxhall Zafira. The road was closed and diversions put in place, but it was re-opened about 3.30pm.

Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either the blue Impreza and the silver Zafira before the collision to call 101 or the witness hotline on 01522 558855.
