UPDATE: Man suffers serious head and internal injuries after reports of stabbing in Boston

Police are investigating a ‘serious assault’ in Boston which left a man with serious head and internal injuries.

Reports on social media suggest it was a stabbing - but police are unable to confirm this.

The incident at Burgess Pit play area was reported to police at 3am this morning (Thursday).

A 36-year-old local man suffered serious head and internal injuries and was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital, before later being transferred to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. It is believed there were two offenders but there are no descriptions available at this time.

There is a significant police presence in the area as forensic and other enquiries continue.

Police are appealing to any witnesses, or anyone who has information, to contact 101, quoting incident number 17 of 10th September.
