UPDATE - The road is reopened after man taken to hospital with serious injuries from collision on A17 at North Rauceby

The road has now been reopend after a man was taken to hospital having been involved in a collision between a car and a lorry on the A17 near North Rauceby.

The crash involving a white Vauxhall Insignia and a blue Scania lorry was reported to emergency services just after 8.20am this morning (Tuesday) at the junction with Main Street.

The A17 remained closed between North Rauceby and Cranwell until 2.40pm to allow for officers to complete their investigations and the damaged vehicles to be cleared.

According to a Lincolnshire Police spokesman, the driver of the Insignia, a man in his 50s, was taken to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham with serious injuries.

She said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw either vehicle prior to the collision to contact us.

“We also ask for anyone who was travelling on the A17 in that location to check their dashcam for any footage that may have the vehicles on. This will help with our investigation.”

The road is expected to remain closed until around 1.45pm.
