UPDATE: Two serious collisions within 10 minutes of each other block A153 between Sleaford and Ruskington

Sleaford Police are warning motorists to avoid the A153 between Speedway Corner at Ruskington and the roundabout at Sleaford Enterprise Park after two serious collisions took place this morning (Friday) within half a mile of each other along the same stretch of road.

According to a Lincolnshire Police spokesman the first collision was reported at 10.38am at the A153 slip road junction with the A17 opposite the Sleaford Rugby Club, blocking one lane.

The collision initially involved a black Peugeot estate and a lorry. The car driver suffered injuries not thought to be serious, said the spokesman. A second lorry was then involved in the collision after the first crash, leaving one lorry in the road and the car and other lorry at the roadside.

A separate two-car collision was reported at 10.52am at the junction of the A153 and the B1209 Moor Lane turn off for Leasingham. One male casualty has been airlifted to Lincoln County Hospital with serious injuries, said the spokesman. The other driver has also gone to Lincoln County Hospitalwith minor injuries.

The road is not closed but there is severe congestion as a result.
