UPDATE: Woman arrested after young motorcyclist dies near Alford

A Theddlethorpe woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving after a 23-year-old Swaby man was killed in a road traffic collision near Alford.

Emergency services were called to the A1104 at Ulceby Cross near Alford, shortly before 10am yesterday morning (Saturday), following a collision between a Mini Cooper and a motorbike.

The motorcyclist was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been named locally as Nathan Askew.

The 49-year-old driver of the Mini, from Theddlethorpe, was taken to Boston Pilgrim Hospital and later arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

She has been interviewed and released on police bail until January 5 to allow the investigation to continue.
