URINE TROUBLE! Council bin man allegedly caught relieving himself in public

Resident Laura Philpott, 29, of Windsor Crescent, was getting ready for the day ahead on Tuesday, February 21, just after 9am, when she saw the council worker appearing to do his business out of her bedroom window.

Mrs Philpott, whose property backs on to the scene on Church Road, said: “We get dressed around 9am and I looked out of my bedroom window and saw them.”

She said she had reported the incident to the council and had been asked to email the pictures to a supervisor but the email bounced back as undeliverable - so she has now forwarded the images to us.

The pictures appear to show the man stood against the fence, with the bin lorry on the other side.

Mrs Philpott said: “The person I spoke to said they have bathroom stops all around town, so there was no reason for him to do that!”

She said a number of properties backed onto that area of fence with windows over-looking it.

“You can see in the picture there’s a little gap in the fence he got through,” she added.

“If someone was caught urinating in public that’s a criminal offence, so why should the council get away with it?”

Mrs Philpott has a one-year-old son and said: “I want to bring him up to learn that sort of thing is not acceptable.”

“They’re supposed to be the one collecting the mess, not causing it,” she added.

No reports have yet been made to police.

When contacted by The Standard, a council spokesman said the authority was investigating the allegations.
