Use of broadband more than doubles

The proportion of homes and businesses in Lincolnshire signing up for high-speed broadband has doubled in the last 18 months, according to Lincolnshire County Council.

The authority puts the increase down to the rollout of fibre optic broadband to rural communities through its Onlinelincolnshire project.

Figures from BT, it says, show more than 34 per cent of homes and businesses in the rollout area have already signed up to the technology – up on 17 per cent in mid-2015.
