Vandals ruin children's project at Louth's Kids Patch

A willow dome has been damaged at the Kids Patch in Charles Street, Louth, after it was believed to have been targeted by vandals.

The damage occurred at some time prior to 9.50am on Tuesday morning (March 8), and local police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the vandalism or has any information.

If you know anything about the incident, call police on 101 and quote incident number 86 of March 8.

The £470 funding for the willow dome and tunnel with raised flowers beds was provided by Councillor Ros Jackson (Louth Trinity), via ELDC’s Councillor Community Grants scheme, to allow and encourage children to play outdoors throughout the year.

Local residents have slammed the vandals on social media.

Emma Sykes said: “It’s so unfair, they shouldn’t get away with it”, and Lynn Selby added: “It’s so sad, all everyone’s hard work, let’s hope they are caught and punished accordingly.”

Town councillor Dawn Blakey commented: “I just can’t see what pleasure they get out of doing this.”
