

VE Day photo gallery - Sleaford area celebrates and commemorates the 75th anniversary at home
Sunny bank holiday weather rewarded the many households who enjoyed drinks and cakes alongside neighbours, with street parties and even a drive-through by families of residents at St Andrew's Care Home in Ewerby who had not seen each other for eight weeks due to coronavirus restrictions.

Sammi and Lucy Emsley decorated their home in Sheldrake Road, Sleaford and posted the story of Sammi's dad, who was a major in the SAS in the war and temporarily captured by Italian intelligence officers. They released him after he convinced them he was an Italian carpenter!
