VE Day remembered at Ashdene Care Home
Staff and residents of two Sleaford care homes celebrated the anniversary of VE Day last week with a themed event.
Staff and relatives of Ashdene and Oakdene care homes dressed up in 1940s outfits and invited in 1940s singer Tara Stafford-Allen to perform some hits from the era.
Manager Jilly Hunt said it was staff member Laura Cook’s idea to entertain residents at Ashdene where they had beef and dripping for tea and fish and chips for lunch.
