The Bassetlaw MP is currently climbing the equatorial summits of Iliniza Norte, Cayambe and Cotopaxi in Ecuador- which boast heights of up to 19,347 feet and temperatures of around -10°C.
Mr Mann and his team, which includes former soldiers who have been injured while serving in the military, hope to complete their gruelling 16 day trek on the 10th June.
Mr Mann sent this message during the climb: “We have just reached the summit of Iliniza at over 15,000 feet.”
“I was second up, following Paul from the Mercian regiment, who reached the top first despite having to walk on his toes after losing much of his legs in an explosion in Afghanistan.”
The money raised by John and his group will provide essential funds for the Battle Back centre, a military initiative which helps to rehabilitate armed forces personnel both physically and psychologically after they have suffered an injury or illness.
