Relatives looked on as the flower-covered coffins were taken out of a plane at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire and loaded into hearses. They included Carly Lovett, 24, from Gainsborough, who was among the first victims to be named after the incident at the beach resort of Port El Kantaoui.

Carly had recently got engaged to her childhood sweetheart. In a statement her family described her as “our beautiful shining light”.

A national minute’s silence to remember those killed in last week’s attack will take place tomorrow (Friday) at 12 noon.
