VIDEO: Incident commander speaks about the fire at old scrap metal merchants
Firefighters have been busy tackling a blaze at the old scrap metal merchants, Thompson’s.
The blaze in Summergangs Lane, Gainsborough, started around 7.25am this morning (Friday 17th April).
There are currently three crews on site, two from Lincolnshire and one from Nottinghamshire.
It is thought they will be there for the rest of today.
Incident commander, Darren Stone, said: “Good progress is being made and we are currently dragging the materials out and damping them down.”
