VIDEO: Lessons in prehistory with Sophie the T-Rex at Leadenham Primary School

Sophie the 8ft Tyrannosaurus Rex visited a village school last Monday! The front of Leadenham Primary School was transformed into a prehistoric setting with fake ash and snow falling from the sky and volcanic smoke streaming from the ground when the Life Long Ago workshop visited the school to inspire the pupils in their Dinosaurs and Potions story writing topic.

All pupils became paleantologists taking part in a fossil hunt. Headteacher Matthew Nicholson said: “It was a fantastic day, where children had hands on learning experiences, which stimulate imaginations and sets the context for the rest of the week’s lessons. We also invited children from Bucknall Primary School to share in our experience.”

Next term a whole school set of new laptops will be arriving to enhance ICT provision in addition to their class computers and IPads.
