VIDEO: Lincolnshire man sentenced after RSPCA find footage of him drunkenly kicking rabbit

Zamual Mallinson, 24, of St Mary’s Lane, Binbrook, was found guilty of keeping a dog used for dog fighting and of failing to ensure the needs of other dogs he owned following a three day trial at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court.

But after RSPCA officers raided his then property in Edinburgh Road, Market Rasen, in April 2014, they seized his mobile phone which held the footage of him kicking a rabbit.

The video, filmed by Mallinson, shows him approaching the helpless animal as it sits on a country footpath before he brutally kicks it.

In his summing up, District Judge Michael Morris described the footage of Mallinson kicking the rabbit as “an act of sheer brutality”.

Mallinson, 24, was given a 12 week custodial sentence suspended for 12 months.

He was ordered to pay a fine of £7,000, a victim surcharge of £80 and has been ordered to complete 140 hours of unpaid work.

And he has been disqualified from owning a dog, or from participating in owning a dog, for 10 years.

The three dogs that were seized from the defendant are now in the care of the RSPCA
