Youngsters from years eight and nine at South Axholme Academy are asking for help in collating facts and photographs related to the people behind the names on Epworth War Memorial, for a First World War centenary exhibition to be staged at Lincoln Cathedral.

An academy spokeswoman said: “The work on this project will be ongoing within the English and history departments, It is creating a lot of interest and also includes a writing competition involving a range of subjects linked to the First World War.”

Anyone who feels they may be able to help the class groups with their project should call 01427 872121.
