Upperthorpe Road and Cove Road were closed by police following the incident this afternoon (Tuesday July 7.)
One resident who did not want to be named said: “I heard gun shots and knew it was something serious, then I heard the police arrive and saw the armed officers.”

An air ambulance was also seen arriving by residents with unconfirmed reports that a man had been seriously injured.
A police spokesman said: “Humberside Police are in attendance in Westwoodside, Doncaster, following reports of a road traffic collision and a potential firearms incident.
“Resources have been deployed to the scene, including armed response vehicles and the police helicopter.
“Enquiries are ongoing at this time.”
