Video: Outwood students discuss A-Level results

Celebrations were the order of the day at Outwood Post 16 Centre, Worksop, after a spectacular batch of A2 and AS results.

Year 13 students achieved a pass rate of 98.2 per cent - above last year’s national average of 98.1 per cent.

And 45 per cent gained A*-B grades and 75.2 per cent gained A*-C grades.

Elaine Hamilton, principal of the centre, was full of praise for her students’ fantastic achievements, she said: “We are all very proud of our pupils.”

“These A-level results represent an incredible amount of hard work by both the students and the staff at the centre throughout the past two years.”

“On days like this it makes all the effort worthwhile.”

Spectacular A2 results were achieved by Christopher Mellor (A*/A*/A*/A*), Luke Hallewell (A*/A*/A*), Helen Askwith (A*/A/A/A) and Ryan Jessop (A*/A*/A/C).

Other students who achieved at least three ‘A’ grades were Matthew Edmondson (A*AAA), Lauren Fudge (A*AA), Charlotte Gallacher (AAA), Francesca Hepworth (A*AA), Victoria Johnson (AAA), Jack Lowe (A*AA), Callum McKechnie (AAA), Nathan Owen (A*AA) and Will Somerset (AAAA).

Elaine added: “These results mean that our students can progress onto university or their chosen career.”

“Of the 32 A-level subjects offered at the Centre 27 achieved a perfect 100 per cent pass rate.”

“What a superb achievement it is for the staff who teach at the centre.”
