Mobile library - Residents are urged to make use of the monthly visit of the mobile library service, which is in danger of being withdrawn by the county council as it investigates ways in which to reduce costs.

The library will be parked in Station Road today from 1pm to 2.15pm and remaining dates for this year are October 19, November 16 and December 14.

Anyone for dancing? - The parish hall will be transformed into a ballroom on alternate Wednesday evenings during the coming winter months.

While it may not compare with the Blackpool Tower, there will be just as much fun generated and perhaps more as those attending slip on their dancing shoes and take a twirl.

Paul Fuller is the organiser of the village’s own version of Strictly Come Dancing and he invites everyone along to join him.

The sessions run from 7pm to 9.30pm.

Most of those going along are beginners learning the basic steps together, or you can just go along and enjoy the dancing.

The next session takes place tonight and then on October 19.

The cost is £2 per person, which includes light refreshments. More information is available from Paul on 01507 313601.
