The facility has been set up at The Venue on Grantham Road in the village and opened last Monday, February 8.

The library has been created by the parish council in response to the County Council’s cost-saving decision to close a number of smaller libraries and offer funding to run community-led libraries.

The Navenby library is initially open on Mondays from 9.30am to 12.30pm and Wednesdays from 1pm-4pm. The village had previously only had a mobile library service.

Heckington Parish Council opened a facility before Christmas within its community rooms, also to replace a mobile library. It has seen its band of volunteers grow, now increasing its opening times to six days a week, Monday to Saturday opening 10am-12noon and until 5pm on Wednesdays.
