Wake’n’Shake event is a hit with pupils of all ages

South Axholme Academy staged the Wake’n’Shake dance-off, which was attended by feeder primary schools from around the Isle.
The event has run for several years and has gained momentum from humble beginnings as a fun way to reap the benefits of exercise.

This year the well-supported event was attended by many parents, who watched groups of pupils perform routines to music, and win certificates for their endeavours.

Dancers were judged on a number of categories including the most enthusiastic performance, the most original moves and the best team display.
South Axholme Principal Marie Lister said: “I saw some of the dances and was pleased to see a lot of parents had turned out to watch.
“It was lovely to see our feeder primaries there and everyone enjoying themselves.” This year the event was organised by South Axholme teacher Dannii Smith.
