WARNING: Bogus gas meter reader operating in Skegness

PCSO Dave Bunker, of the Skegness Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I have today attended a report that a male purporting to be a representative of British Gas has attended a property on the Beacon Park estate in Skegness.

“After the householder attended the door the male stated he had attended in order to read the meter. When challenged he could not provide and Identification card and quickly left the area.

“Please be vigilant. If anyone attends your property purporting to be from a utility company always ask for identification. If they are unable to produce I.D., please call police providing a description and vehicle details if you are able to get these without puting yourself at any risk.”
