Warning to tenants over rogue council workers

The council says it has been made aware of a company operating in the Worksop area claiming to offer free loft insulation fitting on behalf of A1 Housing and Bassetlaw Council.

A spokesman said: “The company is also asking for personal details such as National Insurance numbers which could put your identity at risk.”

“A1 Housing has not authorised this company to work on our behalf and we would like to remind tenants that any work taking place in your home willl be pre-arranged, with an appointment date and time.”

Residents are reminded to always ask for identification and to never let anyone in their home without good reason.
