Here is a slideshow of photos, capturing the Sun disappearing behind the Moon.

The phenomena, which began at 8.27am and reached its peak at 9.32am, was the first solar eclipse in 16 years. Ninety per cent of the Sun was covered by the Moon. Another such eclipse will not occur again until 2026.
