Snow reported in Lincolnshire as ‘weather bomb’ hits UK

As the so-called ‘weather bomb’ hits the UK, Lincolnshire has experienced a pre-Christmas dusting of snow.

A number of reports have been received this morning (December 11) of snow falling in parts of the county, including Boston.

Lincolnshire, and the rest of the East Midlands, is currently subject to a Met Office ‘yellow’ weather warning of wind for tomorrow (Friday).

A spokesman said: “There is the potential for gales, severe along some coasts, and accompanied by heavy rain, to spread across southern areas of England and Wales during the early hours of Friday, before easing during the morning.

“Gusts may reach 50-60mph inland and perhaps around 70mph in some exposed coastal districts.”

He added: “The public should be aware of the risk of damage to trees, disruption to travel and possibly to power supplies.”
