The Met Office had issued a ‘yellow’ warning of wind for the county, the East Midlands and beyond, alerting residents to the risk of gales in the early hours of this morning.

However, in Lincolnshire, wind speeds appear to have remained low overnight, with gusts recorded at just 20mph in Lincoln and Wainfleet.

On the Isle of Wight, however, speeds reached 90mph this morning, while South Wales felt speeds of 64mph, the Met Office said.
