Welton marathon couple's £1,000 fundraising charity boost

A couple preparing to run the London Marathon have been given a £1,000 fundraising boost.

David and Michaela Moulds, from Welton, are taking part in the race to raise money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

And The Elite Fish and Chip Company, which has chosen the Poppy Appeal as its charity of the year, has sponsored the couple £1,000.

The marathon, on April 24, will be David’s fifth and Michaela’s fourth - over they years they have raised £5,000 for charities including St Barnabas Lincolnshire Hospice, Children with Cancer UK, and North West Cancer Research.

David, who will turn 51 the day after the London Marathon, has completed seven years of service in the RAF and is now a civilian aircraft engineer.

He said: “We thank The Elite Fish and Chip Company for their support and are pleased to be raising money for The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal as it’s a cause that is close to our hearts.”

David plans to run the marathon dressed as a poppy.
