Whites Wood kids’ day of celebration

A SPECIAL day of celebration was enjoyed by all as Whites Wood Lane Junior School put on a day of activities to mark their recent outstanding Ofsted report.

Teachers, parents and local dignitaries including Edward Leigh MP all joined in the fun as pupils and staff took the time to thank all the people who have helped school on their journey to outstanding success.

“We really wanted the children to be able to celebrate their fantastic achievements after putting so much effort,” said headteacher Mrs Sharron Close.

“It was a great opportunity to thank the whole team that made this possible - including everyone who has supported the school and continues to do so.”

Parents and carers were invited into school to watch a variety of unique performances.

Mrs Close continued: “Each class prepared something different to show what the children thought of what it meant to be truly ‘outstanding’ at Whites Wood Lane.”

“There was all sorts - from singing and dancing to skipping and performance poetry.”

She went on: “Everybody worked together and it was such a fitting way to thank the parents - without their support, none of this would have been possible.”

All agreed that the youngsters really outdid themselves and did the school proud.

“It was marvellous,” said Mrs Close. “It was such an excellent presentation and said a great deal about the quality of our school.”

She added: “The hard work doesn’t stop here, because there’s still so much we want to do.”
