Whitwell: Worksop man in critical condition after assault

The 39-year-old was assaulted at premises on Holmefield Road during the early hours of Saturday 20th July.

He was initially taken to hospital for treatment, however his health deteriorated and he is now in a critical condition in Bassetlaw Hospital.

Forensic examinations are being conducted at a flat on Holmefield Road and at his home.

Officers from the East Midland Major Crime Unit are working with local Derbyshire and Notts officers on the investigation.

Inquiries are ongoing to trace a 28-year-old man in connection with the incident.
