Chief Insp Tyner published part of the victim’s letter in a Tweet and the moving account from the victim, who wishes she’d come forward 20 years ago, is published alongside Tweets that show police are tough on the perpetrators of domestic abuse.

Chief Insp Tyner Tweeted that there were four people in the police cells this morning, including one for #domesticabuse, and also had a message for holidaymakers visiting Skegness while continuing to abuse their partners or family members.

In a Tweet accompanied by a picture of the police custody suite, Chief Insp Tyner says bluntly: “Offenders won’t find our bed and breakfast on Tripadvisor.”
