Tracey Miles, 35, of Sutterton, moved up here 10 years ago and has opened Sanz’s a traditional shop after missing the famous tastes of her home city.

The former accountant said: “I missed the food that much that I thought I would open up a shop.”

She believes there is not a shop like it in the area.

The design of the shop aims to look traditional and replicates the green, brown and gold colours of London establishments

She currently offers three types of pie, with the hope to eventually have eight flavours on offer - including steak, which she says has been requested quite often since the shop opened on Saturday.

There will be days when different pies are on offer, so keep an eye out if one you like is available.

Tracey said it was ‘packed’ on the first day as curious customers checked out what she had on offer.

Each pie and mash comes with a choice of ‘Liquor’ - a parsley sauce - or gravy

Sanz’s name also follows the tradition of being named after the family - in this instance, the surname of Tracey’s partner and children.

Tracey hopes, in the future, to launch a series of vans to travel out into outlying villages offering her wares.

She believes that in places such as her home village of Sutterton it can be hard to find a good food shop and so wants to bring her tastes to those kinds of places.

The shop is currently open Tuesday through to Saturday, 11am-6pm, but this may change to depending on customers’ needs.
