Wind damages roof at North Notts College

WIND wreaked havoc in Worksop today (Tuesday) and firefighters were kept busy making buildings safe.

At North Notts College on Carlton Road the gale force gusts loosened a piece of gable cladding and thrust it across the road.

Luckily no one was hurt. But fire crews attended at around 2.30pm to make the roof safe and remove any other loose panels.

They used the aerial ladder platform from Mansfield which is sturdier than a ladder in strong winds.

One lane of Carlton Road was cordoned off for safety while the job was done.
