Witness appeal after 'vicious' street attack in Gainsborough

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was subjected to a vicious assault in Gainsborough.

The incident took place in the Heapham Road / Cox's Hill area of the town at around 8.20pm on Thursday evening.

The victim, a man aged in his 40s who was wearing a red England shirt and light jeans, was punched and kicked in the head near the water tower. He sustained several injuries including one to his back.

The two suspects are believed to have emerged from a white van. One is described as in his mid to late thirties, 5’10” tall, of a stocky build, having short dark hair which was starting to grey and wearing a black t-shirt and grey jogging bottoms.

The other was in his mid-twenties to early thirties, 5’6”-5’8” tall, of a medium build with short and curly mousy blonde hair and wearing a red cardigan.
