Woman injured after car hits a tree in Thurcroft

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened around 11.45pm on Thursday 23rd August.

A black VW Golf was travelling along Hawks Hill Lane, in the direction of Common Lane, when it is believed the driver of the vehicle failed to give way at a junction.

The car travelled straight across the road onto a grass verge before colliding with a tree.

The driver, a 22-year-old Rotherham woman was taken to Rotherham Hospital with a serious head injury, not believed to be life threatening.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or the manner of driving prior to the collision should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1347 of the 23 August 2012.
