Opticks Opticians, based in Station Road, now features an amazing new 3D retinal screener that scans and photographs areas of the eyes that until now have been impossible.

Opticks say it will mean they can spot any problems five years earlier than a traditional eye test.

They add it means patients can benefit from the technology, without having to travel to hospital or specialist clinics.

A spokesman said: “A retinal scan can instantly pick up early detection of conditions and diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, age related macular degeneration, retinal detachments and a great deal more – up to five years earlier than a routine eye test.

“The investment in progressive new technology and continued professional development has enabled Opticks to achieve accreditation to provide enhanced clinical services and means that patients can be seen in Woodhall Spa rather than travelling to hospitals and clinics further away.

“Including a retinal scan in your eye care programme together with the benefit of being seen by practice owner Julie-Anne Corrigan every time you visit ensures consistent and thorough eyecare.”
