Woodsetts: Pupils show off their first aid skills on 999 day as part of Heartstart scheme
Another 999 event was held at Woodsetts Primary School to celebrate the achievements of the pupils who had again taken part in the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Heartstart Programme.
This year was the sixth year that the school have supported the scheme and its success was never clearer by the skills the pupils demonstrated and the attendance again from all three emergency services, with not only a guest appearance from Artie Beat - the BHF’s Heartstart mascot – but an additional surprise visit from Pete Winson from the BHF, who was the community resuscitation development officer who had delivered the initial training to the school.
Mr Winson said all the children should be proud of themselves and the way the scheme was run at Woodsetts.
He and PC Shaun Rhodes, from Dinnington Safer Neighbourhood Team, presented the certificates to the year six pupils who had completed the full course.
